Narrator: After a long journey through the northern Tritan Ocean, you land at a small port on the western side of Ancea, in the region of Argaes.
As the ship is being secured to the pier, you descend and walk towards the only building in this area, a medium-sized house adjacent to the dock. It seems that the dock, in fact, belongs to whoever owns this house.
[[Old Morcant]]Old Morcant: Hello! Welcome! Welcome to the great continent of Ancea. I just spoke to your Captain. It is not every day that we receive ships from all the way across the Ocean. Two months at sea... you must be exhausted!
P: It was a very long time, it seems strange to walk on solid land.
This is a smaller port than I had expected... [[Western Argaes]]
I am too tired to talk. Do you have any food? [[Morcant's House]]Old Morcant: You should be glad it's even here! There isn't much around Western Argaes. I built this house in my youth, I like the peace and solitude out here. After that I soon realised that even with so little going on on this side of the region, a small port would be useful for local fishing vessels and the occasional few traders that venture to this side of the continent.
I made some money offering a dock and shelter on land to these travelling vessels for many years. Unfortunetely, I am getting older just as business is getting better. There are more and more ships coming from across the Ocean, just like yours over there.
P: Why is that? [[Ships]]Old Morcant: Of course! No sailor food here, only fresh from the land. Help yourself to a bowl of stew and the warm fire inside.
// You walk inside Morcant's house and pick up one bowl of stew (strong healing item). Inside the home you find Thamas, who was on the ship with you but never talked much, he's also having some stew.
[[Meeting Thamas]] Old Morcant: I don't know. The politics of your land are rather complicated from what I learned from the passing sailors. There is this "Legion of Gasaron", which from the name seems to want to be all over our world. They've been funding exploration in the Tritan Ocean to find a safe route to Ancea. It wasn't easy, but once they did the ships started arriving regularly. I now see one every two weeks or so.
P: Are they all from the Legion?
Old Morcant: No, they seem to be private ships, but there's always one or two on board who are sent by the Legion on various missions. Sometimes they're here to scout the region, other times they want to trade and then you've got the ones who don't really like to talk about their business... I tend to leave them alone as long as the ship's docking fees are paid.
P: Thank you for the information. Do you have any food that isn't dried fish or tough bread? [[Morcant's House]] Thamas: This tastes different from the food you find in Aemil. I had some strange stuff in Esperia, but they clearly have some herbs here that you can't find back at home.
P:
Are you from Esperia then? [[Esperia]]
What are you doing so far from home? [[Intentions]]Thamas: No, I've only been there for work. I live in Artis whenever the Legion isn't putting me on a ship and sending me off elsewhere.
P: What type of work do you do for the Legion?
Thamas: The type of work you don't talk about with a stranger over a bowl of stew in a foreign continent...
P: I see...
Narrator: Thamas nods, puts his bowl down and walks outside.
[[Outside]]Thamas: Errands for the Legion. It used to be easier when their furthest reach was the Northern coast of Aemil, but they seem to have upgraded to crossing oceans and putting their nose into the affairs of foreign continents.
P: What could their business be around here?
Thamas: You may think that I obviously know the answer to that, but you would be surprised...
Narrator: Thamas nods, puts his bowl down and walks outside.
[[Outside]] // Once outside, the player will not be able to find Thamas anywhere (for now). From here on the player is left to explore until they find Galimatia's farm.
Old Morcant: Ah, you're still here. The young man who you probably met inside seemed in a hurry, he ran East towards Hurnscald. Anyway, I hope you both enjoyed the stew!
